Description
A framed photograph of four people including Maria Boyle Workman (1847-1933), William H. Workman Jr. (1874-1951), Thomas Edgar Workman (1890-1972) and a woman, possibly Elizabeth Gowan Workman (1882-1975). The photograph was taken ca. 1920s. The four are standing in a close group at the top of some stairs in front of what appears to be the door to a residence. Maria Boyle Workman stands at the center with W.H. Workman supporting her right arm, Thomas behind her with one hand on her left shoulder and the woman standing beside her on the left side, turning her attention toward her. The frame is decorative and shaped in the style of Classical architecture, two columns on the side and a relief medallion at the top. "From C. W. Parker and Co." is printed on the back, presumably from the photographer in Los Angeles. An ink inscription is at the bottom, identifying the figures in the photo, written by a grandchild of William H. Workman Jr. The item is generally in good condition, loss in the frame at lower left, back.
