Description

Color: Black; White A photograph of a gate from a pamphlet for Dubois Woven Wood fences, ca. 1920s. The vertical image shows the gate at center, with a curveature at the top and two metal braces from the right side at the top and bottom. Portions of the attached fence are at left and right on slightly higher elevations. The gate and fence are made of poles, pointed at the top, and the fence is held together by four or five woven horizontal sections of bracing on the other side, as seen in item .7, while it appears the metal braces hold the gate pieces together. A rustic sidewalk of pieces of concrete is at the bottom and part of a tree is at the right, with sections of other trees in the background and a small area of lawn at the lower left. A caption at the bottom reads "QUAINT GATEWAYS ADD TO ITS RUSTIC BEAUTY." At the lower left is the inscription "Dubois Woven Wood Fence / Made in France," while at the lower right is "Robert C. Reeves Co. / New York." There appears to be little wear or damage to the artifact, which is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
