Description

A gold ring with engraved decorative work and a set with a piece of quartz with gold veining and presented by F.P.F. Temple to, it is presumed, his sister-in-law Cassandana Bickford Temple, ca. 1850s. The inside is inscribed "P.F.T. to C.B.T." with the first set of initials signifying Pliny Fisk Temple, F.P.F.'s given name. Cassandana Bickford was the wife of F.P.F.'s brother, Abraham. It is assumed the quartz was mined from the California gold fields, likely in the southern mines where F.P.F. had long-standing interests. The condition is good with little indication of damage or wear.
