Description
A cabinet card photograph of a group of three persons on a lawn in front of a home near Los Angeles by Joseph T. Bertrand, ca. 1888. The view takes in an expansive circular lawn, bordering driveway and planter beds around this on a large property. The man, woman and child are standing or seated on the grass in front of a carefully trained shrub, of which there are a pair. Behind the group is a four-gabled single-story home with a wrap-around porch. There appear to be orchards and open fields around the residence. On the reverse is printed Bertrand's information and another image the bled onto it. With soiling, staining on the mount and edge bumping and rubbing, the condition is good overall.
