Description
A group portrait of nineteen men at a Southern California Picnic Association function, by Vincent, ca. 1900s. The group, all but two dressed in uniforms, are believed to be Woodmen of the World members and are posed with a banner from the Southern California Picnic Association and hold symbolic axes and an American flag. The group is posed in a park with trees and a lawn. On the reverse is the photographer's cartouche on a pasted-down label. Written in ink on this label is the name "Herman H. Powell" and an "x" by his name corresponding to that identifier on the photo. With large portions of the right corners of the mount missing and soiling on the photo, the overall condition is fair.
