A hand-held telescope, ca. 1850s. The item, which is encased in leather on a brass body is inscribed by the manufacturer, S. & B. Solomons of London, and may have been acquired by William Workman when visiting England in 1851-1852. The leather is cracked and dry and there is tarnish on the brass, but the item is in good condition.
