Description
A lantern slide "2 - Grapes 2 (40) Picking and packing Malaga grapes, Guasti, Calif.," 1920s. The view shows about a dozen men in the fields picking the grapes from vines owned by Secondo Guasti and the Italian Vineyard Company. A few wooden crates filled with grapes are also displayed on the ground and held in one man's hands. In the distance are a line of eucalyptus trees as a wind break and the San Gabriel Mountains. Labels have typed information on the slide and for the Chicago Public School Bureau of Visual Instruction. With some soiling and rubbing, the overall condition is good.
