Description
A lantern slide "91 - Olives 8 (80) Sterilizing cans of ripe olives in retorts, Sylmar, Calif.," issued by the Bureau of Visual Instruction, Chicago Public Schools, ca. 1920s. The image shows two men removing a container of stacked cans from the sterilizing machine in the Sylmar Olive Oil plant with pipes and equipment in the background. The edges have deteriorated and the glass slide is loose, so the condition is fair.
