Description

A lantern slide of Main Street north of the Temple Block, Los Angeles, Isaiah W. Taber, ca. 1890s. The view is from the structure at the corner of Main, Spring and Temple streets and looks towards the Baker Block, the Pico House and the Plaza. Several commercial buildings are in view, as are throngs of horse-drawn vehicles, some streetcars and pedestrians. Hills and mountains are in the distance. There are some stains and the mount is loose and worn, so the condition is fair.
