Description

A lantern slide of the Carthay Circle Theatre at night, Los Angeles, 1926. The view appears to be of the gala opening of the theater, as a crowd lighted by floodlights gathered near the entrance of the facility with its tall tower at the right and large neon sight at the left. Barely visible on the marquee is the text for the Cecil B. DeMille film, "The Volga Boatman," which was released in 1926, as well. The theater name and city are on pasted-down typed labels on either side. With fingerprints on the glass and soiling and wear to the mount, the overall condition appears good.
