Description
A cabinet card photograph of the Los Angeles State Normal School faculty, ca. 1890. The faculty of twenty are gathered in a studio for the formal portrait. Most of the men and women wear dark colored clothing except for two women. The group is split into three rows, with the back row standing and some sitters leaning on the person beside them. The backdrop includes heavy curtains, a stone pillar and a large, antiquated bookcase. The photograph mount is in fair condition with minor loss of the board on the corners, surface scratches, creasing and edge rubbing. The image itself is also in fair condition with signs of foxing, stains and discoloration.
