Description
A letter (a) with envelope (b) from E. G. Lewis to L. M. Ellenwood, postmarked 1 April 1922. The missive is a sales letter from the general manager of the Palos Verdes Project, the initial, but failed, attempt to develop part of the Palos Verdes peninsula. The item outlines Lewis' plans for development, specifically the underwriting subscription program he established, and references a separately-sent book. The underwriting effort collapsed and Lewis left the project, which was changed into the Palos Verdes Estates development later in the decade. The letter has folds and the envelope is stained, soiled and torn, but the overall condition is good.
