Description
A letter (a) with subscription form (b) from E. G. Lewis, 17 April 1922. The missive is a sales letter from the general manager of the Palos Verdes Project, the initial, but failed, attempt to develop part of the Palos Verdes peninsula. The item promotes an underwriting subscription plan and gives several purported examples of local enthusiasm for the scheme. The underwriting effort collapsed and Lewis left the project, which was changed into the Palos Verdes Estates development later in the decade. The form has terms and amounts for the convertible and non-convertible underwriting notes, to have been offered by the Title Insurance and Trust Company of Los Angeles, and the signature and address of the subscriber. The letter has folds and creases and the subscription form has a fold, but the overall condition is good.
