Description

A letter and envelope from Luther A. Ingersoll in Los Angeles, California to Walter P. Temple in Alhambra, California, 27 March 1921. A handwritten letter on a stationery for Ingersoll's office at the Historical Collection of the Los Angeles Public Library (a). Ingersoll states that he and the managing editor of the Los Angeles Times have arranged for the paper to produce an article about the Huntington Beach oil developments in a light that is "acceptable to all interests involved." Ingersoll also states that he has requested to meet with Mr. Kauffman and Miss Ellesler (surname hard to discern) to gather data, presumably in regard to the developments, and that he hopes Laura Temple has recovered from the earlier week. With creases, a minor acid burn, and minor discoloration, the object is in good condition overall. The envelope (b) is postmarked for 27 April 1921. With moderate acid burns, adhesive residue, minor tear, and a tear along the right side, the object is in fair condition overall.
