Description
A letter and envelope from Perry Worden in Pasadena, California to Thomas Workman Temple II in Cambridge, Massachusetts, 17 December 1926. In the typewritten, three page response letter (a-c), Worden explains that he has read through a new 5 volume history of California (most likely California and Californians by Rockwell D. Hunt and Nellie Can De Grift Sanchez) which has insufficient, and in some cases erroneous, information about the Workman and Temple families. Worden pleads for Thomas to advocate for his efforts in authoring the Temple family history book, including his proposed trip to Northwest England for research, so that his father (Walter P. Temple) will continue to support his ambitions. Worden states that he has been unable to find Nettie Friend de Temple's address, but that Thomas should not contact William H. Workman's daughter as there is still discord between the families. With minor discoloration and creases, the pages are in good condition overall. The envelope (d) has moderate silverfish damage, minor tears, moderate loss, and minor discoloration. It is in fair to poor condition overall.
