Description
A letter and envelope from Perry Worden in Pasadena, California to Walter P. Temple in Puente, California, postmarked 7 December 1925. In the typewritten letter (a), Worden summarizes his visit to the house of Mr. and Mrs. Capdeville in Glendale, explaining that they are very sympathetic to his efforts on the Temple family history book. According to Worden, Mrs. Capdeville revealed information about a pledge between William Workman and Michael White, another early English settler in California who was at one time employed by Workman in Taos, New Mexico, which was pertinent to the burial place of the latter. Worden encourages Temple to add White's remains to the Walter-Temple-Pico Mausoleum (Walter P. Temple Memorial Mausoleum) as per Mrs. Capdeville's offer. With creases and minor discoloration, the object is in good condition overall. The envelope (b) has handwritten notes showing two addresses on its back side. With minor stains, minor discoloration, minor silverfish damage, and a moderate tear along its left side, the envelope is in fair condition overall.
