Description

A letter and envelope from Thomas W. Temple II to Walter P. Temple in Puente, California, 19 August 1924. In the handwritten letter on a stationery for the University of Santa Clara (a), Thomas discusses his return to school. Thomas informs his father that he is rooming with one W.R. Cortells from San Francisco, that he is anticipating his brothers' promotion to Belmont School since they will be nearer to each other, and that he is hoping for a truck to come with some of his personal items. Thomas signs off by expressing how much he misses his father and their home. With creases, a dogeared corner, minor foxing, and minor discoloration, the object is in good condition overall. The envelope (b) is postmarked for 20 August 1924. With minor discoloration/acid burns, minor silverfish damage, edge wear, a moderate tear along its top side, creases, and signs of foxing, the envelope is in fair condition overall.
