Description

A letter, card, and envelope from Perry Worden in Pasadena, California to Thomas Workman Temple II in Cambridge, Massachusetts, 18 February 1927. In the typewritten letter (a-b), Worden states that he would prefer to not meet with Mary Workman's family again since some of the family members harbor negative feelings toward William Workman and the Temples. According to Worden, Walter P. Temple believes that the animosity was partially caused by their prior request for $50,000, which Walter refused. Worden encourages Thomas to join the Historical Society of Southern California. Worden also discusses difficulties regarding a woman who wished to meet with Walter about her translation of the Spanish Venegas and the Temple-Workman family monument which Walter wants to create. With creases, minor edge wear, and minor discoloration, the object is in good condition overall. On a separate yellow card (c), Worden writes that he could not find a copy of a letter which he wanted to send. The envelope (d) is postmarked for 21 February 1927. With major silverfish damage, a moderate tear along its right side, and minor discoloration, the envelope is in poor condition overall.
