Description
A letter from Aaron Pollard to William Workman, 29 September 1852. The missive concerns Pollard's purchase of half of the one-half interest of the late Hugo Reid in the land claim for the lands of the Mission San Gabriel, granted to Reid and Workman by Governor Pio Pico in June 1846 and request to "advise with" Workman on the matter. The claim was rejected by the United States Supreme Court in April 1864 on the grounds that Pico had no authority to make the grant. With some creases, minor tears, and slight discoloration, the condition is good.
