Description

A letter from an unknown author of the Whittier Extension Company to F.W. Neuman in York, Pennsylvania, 22 July 1913. Responding to Mr. Neuman's request, a descriptive folder of North Whittier Heights is being sent, which includes a map of Southern California showing the location of the property and a map showing the subdivided plots. Land has been divided into 5 to 50 acre tracts will 100 acres for a townsite, 400 acres of canyon land and 1300 for orchards which costs $500 to $800 an acre and trees can be planted for an extra $175 an acre. In 5 years the land will produce a minimum of $350 an acre and cost at least $2500 an acre. Loan terms and a list of buyers are given and an orchard care contract is mentioned. The number 4 is circled in the top left corner. With holes from a straight pin, discoloration and the tops of the pages glued together, the object is in good overall condition.
