Description

A letter from an unknown author of the Whittier Extension Company to H.H. Busby in Denver, Colorado. 1 December 1913. A typed letter in response to a letter H.H. Busby sent (object number 2017.41.1.256) requesting information on the North Whittier Heights subdivision. A descriptive folder will be mailed with a different cover letter. In the folder will be a map of Southern California which shows the exact location of the subdivision, a map of the tracts that have been subdivided, articles on the condition of the area, and terms of sale. The author informs that the Whittier Extension Company does not do trades and suggests to Mr. Busby that he sell his property in Colorado and buy in California. Mr. Busby will "come out better" selling than if he tried trading. The author writes that the land in North Whittier Heights is high-class, and most of it has been bought by successful orchardists. This should show the soil, water, and climatic conditions are perfect for citrus. The author closes the letter by inviting Mr. Busby out to the property when he is in California. There is discoloration on the top, bottom, and right side, a brown spot in the top left corner, and dents in the top left corner from the head of a straight pin. This object is in good condition overall.
