Description
A letter from an unknown author to Albert Chamness in Richmond, Indiana. 10 April 1917. The abbreviation "GTR/W" near the end of the document may refer to Grover T. Russell. A two page, typed letter. In response to Mr. Chamness' earlier letter (Object ID: 2017.41.1.1316), the author states that all of the land which is south of North Whittier Heights may be sold before Mr. Chamness travels to Los Angeles in June. Thus, the author offers to secure some land for Mr. Chamness in the first sale of the property. The author reassures Mr. Chamness that, since much of the land that he currently owns is comprised of walnut orchards, which are easier to care for than citrus orchards, he should have no issue caring for this additional property. The author recommends that Mr. Chamness should plant Valencia oranges once he purchases the property, and states that he will be able to join the citrus association once he arrives. With adhesive in the top left corner which is holding the document together, minor tears, minor acid burns, a rust stain, and early signs of foxing, the object is in good condition overall.
