A letter from an unknown author to an unknown recipient. 1 May 1914.
A letter confirming the sale of land in North Whittier Heights. Lots 48 and 82, unplanted and lot 81, planted to 10 month old lemons, is tract 1953. Lot 50, unplanted in tract 2421. Lot 1 in tract 2489 will be planted to Lemons and put back on the market at a later date. Lots 5, 6, 7, 16, 17, 25, 37 and an additional 20 acres of tract 1953 have been planted to walnut trees and are being sold for $750 an acre. Lot 36 of the same tract has also been planted to walnuts and is being sold for $850 an acre. The space between the trees has been leased to a bean grower and anyone who buys land will get the company's share of the bean crop on that land. Mr. George Weinshank, who is the largest grower of walnut tree stock in California bought lot 18 in tract 1953. Also, Professor Smith, who is the authority on walnut culture has bought 20 acres close to lot 18 of tract 1953. About 100 acres have been reserved for a townsite which should be completed in the fall and because the walnut lands are so close to the townsite location, their values will naturally go up. The author closes the letter with hopes that the summer will bring many buyers.
