A letter from an unknown author to C.C. Caldwell in Almena, Kansas. 28 May 1914.
A typed, 2 page letter in response to a letter (object number 2017.41.1.505) requesting information on citrus and walnut land in North Whittier Heights. A folder will be mailed under a separate cover letter. This will include a map of the tracts as subdivided, a map of Southern California which shows the exact location, and articles on the soil, water, and climatic conditions of the land. Unplanted land has been divided into 5 to 50 acre plots and are sold for $400 to $800 per acre. Some land has been planted to oranges, lemons, grapefruit, and walnuts. This land has been divided into 5, 10, 15, or 20 acres and is being sold for $750 to $1025 per acre. With the modern townsite, and completion of Turnbull Canyon Road, the demand and value for land in North Whittier Heights is going to go up. Some of the most successful citrus growers are buying land in North Whittier Heights, which shows the merit of the land. The author then lists people who have bought in North Whittier Heights. The author closes the letter by inviting Mr. Caldwell out to see North Whittier Heights.
The pages have been glued together in the top left corner. Both pages have discoloration on all sides, tears on the right side and page 1 has a small crease on the bottom left. This object is in fair condition overall.Lexicon
