Description

A letter from an unknown author to C.E. Boyle in San Dimas, California. 15 January 1914. A typed, 2 page draft letter to C. E. Boyle. The author feels that the year is going to be active with an incased demand for choice citrus lands and the North Whittier Heights subdivision is making plans accordingly. They are anxious to have a "live wire" citrus land salesman represent them in the sale of the North Whittier Heights property. They realize that most of their investors will be of higher class, as these people look at the merit of the property. The author would like to take Mr. Boyle out to see the property when it is convenient for him, and believes after seeing the land, he will be happy to recommend it to his friends. With the completion of a townsite and road connecting Whittier and Pomona Boulevards, the value of the North Whittier Heights subdivision will increase. The author will send Mr. Boyle a descriptive folder, under a separate cover letter, this will include a map of the subdivision and label all tracts that have been sold, those that have been planted, and will include prices. About 175 acres were planted to Eureka Lemons, Valencia Oranges, and Marsh Grapefruits. The owners plan to increase the cost of these lands on the first of February, so now would be the time for clients to buy. The author closes the letter with homes that Mr. Boyle will help sell their land. The pages have been glued together across the top, are discolored on the right side, and have holes in the top left corner from a straight pin. Page 1 (a) has a crease across the top from a fold, and an acid burn along the bottom. Page 2 (b) has a light acid burn on the right side, and a small tear on the right side. This object is in good condition overall.
