Description

A letter from an unknown author to Chas D. Price in San Diego, California. 9 July 1914. A typed, 2 page letter responding to a letter (object number 2017.41.1.538) asking for information on North Whittier Heights. A descriptive folder is being mailed under a different cover letter. Unplanted land is sold in tracts of 5 to 50 acres and costs $400 to $800 per acre. Some land has been planted to oranges, lemons, grapefruit and walnuts. This land has been divided into tracts of 5, 10, 15, or 20 acres and is being sold for $700 to $1025 per acre. With the completion of Turnbull Canyon Road and the building of the townsite, the value and demand for North Whittier Heights is going to increase. Some of the most successful citrus growers have invested in North Whittier Heights which shows the merit of the land. The author then lists some of the men who have bought property. The letter is closed with an invitation to view the property with no obligation to buy. The pages have been glued together in the top left corner and there is discoloration on the right side. The first page also has some creases along the right side. This object is in good condition overall.
