Description

A letter from an unknown author to D.M. Guyivich in Chicago, Illinois. 29 March 1915. A two page, typed letter. The author confirms that Mr. Guyivich's inquiry about the North Whittier Heights orange, lemon, grapefruit, walnut, and avocado subdivisions (Object ID: 2017.41.1.786) has been received and that he will be sent a descriptive folder of the property. The author lists the prices of unplanted lands as ranging from $450 to $800 per acre and planted lands from $700 to $1025 per acre. The author mentions about $450,000 of the property has been sold since the year of 1913. The author suggests that Mr. Shepard should refer to entities such as the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce to learn the merits of the property, though it would be more ideal if he could travel to California and see the lands for himself. The author is willing to provide further information if Mr. Guyivich is interested. With some minor discoloration at the bottom left corners of the document; adhesive at the top left corner is holding the two pages together; and minor smudges are present on both pages, the object is in good condition overall.
