A letter from an unknown author to Earl B. Williams in Buffalo, New York. 4 June 1914.
A typed, two page letter in response to a postcard (object number 2017.41.1.518) requesting information on North Whittier Heights. A descriptive folder was sent under a separate cover. This folder included a map of the tract as subdivided, a map of Southern California which shows the exact location of the property, as well as articles on the soil, water, and climatic conditions. Unplanted land can be bought in tracts of 5 to 50 acres and costs $400 to $800 an acre, Several acres have been planted to oranges, lemons, grapefruit and walnuts, and has been divided into 5, 10, 15, and 20 acre. This land costs $700 to $1025 per acre. With a new townsite coming and the completion of Turnbull Canyon Road, the demand and value of North Whittier Heights is going to go up. Several successful citrus men have bought land, which shows the merit of the property. The author then lists some who have bought here. The author closes by inviting Earl Williams to the property should he be in the area and offers to provide any needed information.
The pages have been glued together in the top left corner, and discoloration on the top and right side. Page one has a crease in the top left corner and abrasion damage on the right side. Page two has a fold of the top right corner and abrasion damage on the left side. This object is in good condition overall.Lexicon
