A letter from an unknown author to Ed. [sic] Ehinger in New York, New York. 8 June 1917. The abbreviation "GTR/P" near the signature line, below which is written "Sales Manager for North Whittier Heights," may refer to Grover T. Russell. The author has written "Ed." as an incorrect abbreviation of the recipient's first name, Adolph. In reference to Mr. Ehinger's earlier letters (Object IDs: 2017.41.1.1334 and 2017.41.1.1342), the author states that his response was delayed since he was attempting to find ranchers in the La Fortuna Farms tract who could care for Mr. Ehinger's property. The author explains that his company, the Whittier Extension Company, only cares for properties in North Whittier Heights. The author then notes that Mr. Ehinger currently has a deal with a Japanese man for certain care services; however, the author argues that Japanese workers are not good at caring for citrus trees. Therefore, the author concludes that the best solution would be for Mr. Ehinger to have the La Fortuna Farms Company manage the care of his property. With minor moisture damage, ink stains, early signs of foxing, minor acid burns, and two minor tears, the object is in good conditon overall.Lexicon
