Description

A letter from an unknown author to Emma Sweeney in New York City, New York. 28 July 1916. The author states that he is replying to Mrs. Sweeney's letter (Object ID: 2017.41.1.1138) in Mr. Hart's stead, as Mr. Hart is at the military training camp in Monterey. The author explains that he has recently been in contact with William S. Emery, whom he believes to be Mrs. Sweeney's brother or brother-in-law, and that Mrs. Sweeney shoud encourage Mr. Emery to buy land before prices rise. The author concludes by describing the commission that Mrs. Sweeney would receive if Mr. Emery makes a purchase. With minor foxing, rust and ink stains, creases, a minor tear, and a minor pin hole, the object is in good conditon overall.
