Description

A letter from an unknown author to F.M. Van Dyke in Toledo, Ohio. 20 March 1915. The author responds to Mr. Van Dyke's questions from his previous letter (Object ID: 2017.41.1.778). The author confirms that the groves are indeed known as English walnuts when they reach the market, and states the southwest corner of the property is 2 and a half miles away from Whittier, and that all of the walnut and citrus groves are irrigated. The author assures Mr. Van Dyke that there is no malaria in Southern California and informs him that unplanted lands range from $450 to $800 per acre while planted lands range from $700 to $1025 per acre. The author confirms that a descriptive foler will be sent to Mr. Dyke. With creasing and a fold at the top left side of the document, and discoloration on the top and right sides, the object is in good condition overall.
