Description

A letter from an unknown author to Frank Cope at the Hotel Trinity in Los Angeles, California. 3 July 1918. A two page, typed letter. Having learned that Mr. Cope is currently in the eastern United States, the author clarifies that he has sent this letter to the Hotel Trinity since Mr. Cope may have left his forwarding address with the postal people. The author explains that there is a prospective buyer who would like to purchase half of Mr. Cope's orchard, about 4.5 acres, for $11,000. Further, the author states that his client is an experienced orchard man; thus, the client would like to work the other half of Mr. Cope's property on a contract basis or a day labor plan if this deal goes through. The author notes that his client may be able to increase the productivity of the orchard. The author asks that Mr. Cope respond as soon as possible and state whether he is interested, what his terms would be, and other details. With creases; pin holes; a dog-eared corner; minor and moderate acid burns; and minor tears, the object is in fair to poor condition overall.
