Description
A letter from an unknown author to Fred Shepard in Kalkaska, Michigan. 29 March 1915. A two page, typed document. The author confirms that Mr. Shepard's inquiry about the North Whittier Heights orange, lemon, grapefruit, walnut, and avocado subdivisions (Object ID: 2017.41.1.792) has been received and that he will be sent a descriptive folder of the property. The author lists the prices of the unplanted lands as ranging from $450 to $800 per acre and the planted lands from $700 to $1050 per acre. The author mentions that about $450,000 of the property has been sold since the year of 1913. The author suggests that Mr. Shepard should refer to entities such as the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce to learn the merits of the property, though it would be more ideal if he could travel to California and see the lands for himself. The author is willing to provide further information if Mr. Shepard is interested. With some strike-throughs and edits in pencil on the first page of the document; staple holes in the top left corner of both pages; slight discoloration on the upper left, bottom left, and lower right sides; and adhesive in the top left corner holding both pages together, the object is in good condition overall.
