Description

A letter from an unknown author to G.B. Evans in Los Angeles, California, 18 March 1913. The author is making a second attempt to interest Mrs. Evans into buying citrus lands at North Whittier Heights and expresses his belief that the citrus industry is growing. Their land which was unaffected by the freeze has been divided into 5 to 40 acre tracts and is being sold at $700 an acre or $865 an acre for planted orchard land and $250 an acre for rough land. Loan terms are given, contract to care for orchards is mentioned, and information on the location and planned improvements laid out. The California Citrus Protective League says it takes $136 per acre to care for citrus trees and established orchards in the area are selling for $3,600 an acre. With holes from a straight pin, creases, acid burns, tears, pieces missing, rust, a stain, and wear, the object is in good overall condition.
