Description

A letter from an unknown author to G.C. Ivey in Whittier, California. 1 November 1913. A typed letter to inform G.C. Ivey that Mrs. Scharenberg is leasing her lot 57 and lot 48 to J.P. Thompson. Lot 57 will be leased from 1 November 1913 to 1 January 1915 and lot 48 from 1 January 1914 to 1 January 1915. The author told Mr. Thompson that Mr. Ivey might have his corn off the property prior to the dates and that if he wanted to plant anything to contact Mr. Ivey. The author then goes on to write how he is disappointed with the condition of the walnut trees. Mr. Ivey told him only a few were missing, however, when the author was on the property it looked like at least half were missing and they were not properly being cared for. The author would like a final count of the missing trees before they go dormant and if Mr. Ivey is not going to do the counting to let the author know so he can hire someone to do it. There is a tear on the right side, water damage on the right side and early signs of foxing. This object is in fair condition.
