Description
A letter from an unknown author to G.W. McMakin in Oceanside, California. 14 February 1918. Text below the signature line refers to the "Sales Manager for Edwin G. Hart." In response to Mr. McMakin's earlier letter (Object ID: 2017.41.1.1427), the author expresses doubt that Mr. McMakin will be able to trade his residence property in Oceanside for a ranch in the Whittier orchard section or its adjoining districts on an even trade basis. The author specifies that a client would typically have to buy a ranch which is 3 to 4 times the value of the property he is putting up for trade. The author offers his services to Mr. McMakin in the event that he is willing to make a deal of this kind and pay off or assume the remaining balance of a ranch. With a rust stain, minor acid burns, and minor foxing, the object is in good condition overall.
