Description
A letter from an unknown author to H.M. Jordan in Whittier, California. 21 March 1917. A two page, typed letter. In reference to their earlier phone conversation, the author states that he will not sell Mr. Jordan's 5 acre lemon grove to a prospective buyer. The author's reasoning for this decision is that, although Mr. Jordan had chosen to price the land at $2,000, he had never specified the terms on which he would like to sell the property. The author states that his office does not sell any property to prospective buyers unless the owner agrees to give it a commission of 5% of the sale price. The author clarifies that Mr. Jordan can offer his property at any price and give any commission that he desires, but that he must agree to 5% commissions if he would like the author's firm to sell his future properties. With adhesive in the top left corner which is holding the document together and minor acid burns, the object is in good condition overall.
