Description

A letter from an unknown author to Henry Kolbe in San Antonio, Texas. 29 September 1914. A typed, 2 page letter in response to a postcard (object number 2017.41.1.618) requesting information on North Whittier Heights. A descriptive folder was mailed under a separate cover letter. Unplanted land has been divided into tracts of 5 to 50 acres and costs $400 to $800 an acre. Several acres have been planted to oranges, lemons, grapefruit, and walnuts. This land has been divided into 5, 10, 15, 20 acres and costs $700 to $1025 an acre. With the completion of Turnbull Canyon Road and the townside, the demand for and value of land will increase. Several successful citrus men have invested in North Whittier Heights, which speaks for the merit of the land. The author the lists investors so Mr. Kolbe can contact them regarding the merits of the land and reputation of the company. The letter is closed with an invitation to come out and see the land, should he ever be in Los Angeles. The pages have been glued together in the top left corner, holes in the top left corner from a straight pin, discoloration on the top and right side, cuts on the left side of the bottom 1/3, and an acid burn on the left side. This object is in good condition overall.
