Description

A letter from an unknown author to J.L. Blankenship in Amarilla, Texas. 23 October 1917. At Mr. Hart's request, the author responds to Mr. Blankenship's earlier communication regarding the lot he which he intends to purchase in North Whittier Heights. The author states that he is enclosing a copy of a letter which Mr. Scott and his wife must sign and send to the Whittier Extension Company to transfer their interest in the lot to Mr. Blankenship. The author also states that Mr. and Mrs. Scott can use the back of their contract to assign Mr. Blankenship their right, title, and interest in the property, after which Mr. Blankenship will pay according to their arrangements. In addition, the author discusses Mr. Blankenship's concern about the northerly portion of lot 22 in tract 2421, which he purchased. The author explains that Mr. Blankenship has already been given credit on his contract since the lot has been measured as 9.43 acres rather than its estimated size of 9.72 acres. The author informs Mr. Blankenship that Mr. Hart will soon be in contact with him regarding other matters and that the Gernert place has been sold. With pin holes, rust stains, minor acid burns, minor tears, discoloration, a folded corner, and early signs of foxing, the object is in good condition overall.
