A letter from an unknown author to J.L. Blankenship in Quanah, Texas. 30 October 1917. The abbreviation "GTR:G" near the signature line may refer to Grover T. Russell. In response to Mr. Blankenship's earlier letter (Object ID: 2017.41.1.1397), the author states that he is enclosing a statement from the auditor of the Whittier Extension Company, as well as a receipt for the 5.23 water shares on lot 2, tract 2421, with this letter. The author explains that the statement shows a credit of $353.43 which was owed to Mr. Blankenship on account of the difference between the approximate and completed surveys of lot 22, tract 2421. The author also states that a copy of a water stock receipt will be enclosed with this letter. The author clarifies that his company has not yet received the tax statement on lot 22, but that it will cover the property's taxes for the current year and simply expect a remit from Mr. Blankenship. The author concludes with information pertaining to Mr. Blankenship's upcoming payment of $445.50 and how he can receive his commission as a credit or a voucher. With pin holes, minor foxing, minor discoloration, signs of flaking, rust stains, and ink stains, the object is in good condition overall.
