Description

A letter from an unknown author to L.G. Boies in Birmingham, Iowa. 16 September 1918. The author states that Mr. Boies' earlier letter (Object ID: 2017.41.1.1459) has been received. The author explains that he did not respond sooner because the letter had been misplaced during the rush of business relating to the war (World War I). The author states that the Monrovia lots which Mr. Boies inquired about, Lot 4 in Block 4 and Lot 5 in Block Y, are approximately $500 each. The author mentions that the lots are near the business part of town and the electric railway depot, which will make them reasonably easy to sell when the market picks up. The author suggests that Mr. Boies should contact another firm, Hoffman and Mildren of Monrovia, if he wishes to handle the properties, and states that he will enclose the firm's business card with this letter. With minor acid burns; yellowing; rust and ink stains; and a minor tear, the object is in good condition overall.
