Description

A letter from an unknown author to L.L. Rissinger in Tucson, Arizona. 17 May 1915. A three page, typed document. The author confirms that Mrs. Rissinger's letter (Object ID: 2017.41.1.829) has been received and that she will be sent a descriptive folder of the property. The author lists the prices of unplanted walnut lands as ranging from $700 to $750 per acre and softshell walnut groves as ranging from $750 to $775 per acre. The author explains the difference between seedling softshell walnut orchards and grafted softshell walnut orchards, the merit of the "Placentia Perfected" variety, and other details regarding how walnut orchards are cared for. The author clarifies that no bearing walnut orchards are available at the North Whittier Heights property, but that Mrs. Rissinger can still refer to entities such as the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce to learn the merits of the unplanted and young planted lands. If Mrs. Rissinger travels to Los Angeles, the author is also open to giving her a tour of the property. With adhesive in the top left corner which is holding the pages together, some minor smudging, the object is in good condition overall.
