Description

A letter from an unknown author to Ludwig Gossmann in Los Angeles, California. 21 January 1916. The author provides details regarding Mr. Cheney's 36 acre walnut orchard in La Habra for Mr. Gossmann, who would like to acquire the property. The author explains that Mr. Cheney can install a well and a pumping plant to lower the yearly cost of water for the orchard, but that he will subsequently keep his water shares. Alternatively, Mr. Gossmann can take Mr. Cheney's water shares and build the well and pumping plant at his own expense. The author urges Mr. Gossmann to see the orchard, which produced 23 tons of walnuts over the year according to Mr. Cheney. The author would also like to know what proposition he will offer Mr. Cheney. With two creases, two minor tears, minor ink stains, minor foxing, and smudged text, the object is in good condition overall.
