Description

A letter from an unknown author to Ludwig Gossmann in Los Angeles, California. 27 January 1916. A two page, typed letter. The author confirms that Mr. Gossmann's earlier letter regarding his desire to exchange his property for a 36 acre walnut ranch at La Habra (Object ID: 2017.41.1.989) has been received. The author explains in detail why Mr. Gossmann's proposition is not satisfactory. The author claims that Mr. Gossmann has greatly misvalued the La Habra property and is not familiar with the merit of the Whittier-La Habra foothill section; thus, the author states that he will not bother informing the owner of the property, Mr. Cheney, about Mr. Goddicksen's proposition. Furthermore, the author states that Mr. Gossmann will likely be unable to get any orchard in that section on better terms than those which were originally specified. With adhesive in the top left corner which is holding the document together, ink stains, and early signs of foxing, the objects are in good condition overall.
