Description
A letter from an unknown author to M.E. Getter in Long Beach, California. 11 April 1914.
A typed, 2 page letter in response to a postcard requesting information on North Whittier Heights. A descriptive folder will be mailed under a separate cover letter. This will include a map of the property as subdivided, a map of Southern California which shows the location of North Whittier Heights, as well as articles on the soil, water and climatic conditions. Unplanted lands have been divided into 2 to 50 acre tracts and cost $400 to $800 per acre. Also, several acres have been planted to Eureka Lemons, Valencia Oranges and Marsh Grapefruit. This land is being divided into 5, 10, 15, and 20 acre tracts and cost $750 to $1025 per acre. Some of the most successful citrus growers and nurserymen have invested in North Whittier Heights which shows the merit of the land. This, along with the modern townsite and completion of road through Turnbull Canyon, will increase the value of land in North Whittier Heights. The author closes the letter by inviting M.E. Getter out to the property.
Both pages (a and b) are glued together in the top left corner, and discoloration on the top and right side. Page 1 also has a creases on the left side and a piece missing from the top right corner. This object is in good condition overall.
