A letter from an unknown author to Messrs. Cooper and Joy in Pasadena, California. 5 February 1914.
A typed, 2 page letter asking for Messrs. Cooper and Joy to help with the sale of land in North Whittier Heights subdivision. The author and his company feel that there will be an increase in demand for land and are looking for citrus land salesmen to help in the selling of land. They realize that high class investors will most likely be the type of people investing in North Whittier Heights, as they understand the higher costs of land due to the merit of the soil, water, and climate. The author would like to take Cooper and Joy out to the site so they can see all that is offered. A modern townsite is going to open and a road through Turnbull Canyon is almost complete, which will increase the demand for this land. The author is going to mail, under a different cover, a descriptive folder. This will include a map of the tracts as subdivided which will shows what lands are planted, which are unplanted, and which are sold as well as prices. 175 acres of land have been planted to Eureka Lemons, Valencia Oranges, and Marsh Grapefruit, which the author believes is a good investment. If Cooper and Joy would be interested in helping with the sale of North Whittier Heights, then the author will provide maps, pictures, and literature. The author closes the letter with hopes that they can work together.
Both pages are glued together at the top, discoloration on the top and right side, an acid burn along the top, and tears on the right side. Page 1 (a) has foxing in the top right corner and a small crease on the left side. Page 2 (b) has no other damage. This object is in fair condition overall.Lexicon
