Description
A letter from an unknown author to Miss Pieper in Los Angeles, California, 14 June 1913. Responding to Ms. Pieper's request (object number 2017.41.1.99) a descriptive folder of North Whittier Heights is being sent, which includes a map of Southern California showing the location of the property and a map showing the subdivided plots. Land has been divided into 5 to 50 acre tracts with 100 acres for a townsite, 400 acre of foothills and 1300 acres of orchard land costing $500 to $800 an acre, with cheaper land needing leveling before planting. Loan terms are given, planned improvements are mentioned as well as local amenities, and the owners will not give a cash discount. With holes from a straight pin, creases, and discoloration, the object is in good overall condition.
