Description
A letter from an unknown author to Mr. Norton in Los Angeles, California. 12 October 1914. A two page, typed letter. Handwritten text at the top of the document indicates that this document is a copy "for the city." In response to Mr. Norton's earlier card, the author states that he will be sent a descriptive folder of the North Whittier Heights property and a related map. The author explains that the property is divided into tracts of varying sizes, and that the prices of unplanted tracts range from $450 to $800 per acre while the planted tracts range from $700 to $1,025 per acre. The planted tracts are stated to be citrus and walnut lands. A brief paragraph discusses infrastructure near the property and plans for a townsite, but it has been marked with strike-throughs. The author states that Mr. Norton can contact the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce and/or other entities to learn about the merit of the property. The author also states that Mr. Norton should call his office if he is interested in buying some acreage and would like to see the property or get more information. With adhesive in the top left corner which is holding the document together, pin holes, minor wrinkling, moderate discoloration, and minor acid burns, the object is fair to poor condition overall.
