Description
A letter from an unknown author to Paul S. Heffleman in Los Angeles, California. 17 March 1916. A two page, typed letter. In response to Mr. Heffleman's earlier card, the author states that the avocado lands being offered for sale are in the North Whittier Heights subdivision and that the prices of the unplanted lands range from $200 to $800 per acre. The author states that the prices of the planted lands vary, but specifies that a 3 acre avocado grove in Trumbull [sic] Canyon is available for $1500 per acre. The author is most likely referring to Turnbull Canyon in Whittier, CA and has simply misspelled the name. The author states that the report of the avocado growers convention at the Alexandria Hotel in 1915 has been published and that Mr. Heffleman can contact C.A. Wheeler to acquire a copy. The author concludes by stating that he will send Mr. Heffleman a descriptive folder of the North Whittier Heights subdivision and offers to show Mr. Heffleman any of the properties at his request. With adhesive in the top left corner which is holding the document together, water stains, minor folds, minor tears, minor foxing, and ink stains, the object is in good condition overall.
