A letter from an unknown author to Peter Goddicksen in Orange, California. 16 September 1916. The abbreviation "GTR:MG" near the signature line may refer to Grover T. Russell. The author informs Mr. Goddicksen that, due to difficulties in the negotiation process, the co-operative purchase of the Amar property has been called off. The author explains that 2 buyers will likely purchase all 100 acres, but that some of the other prospective buyers have been turned onto a sale of 50 acres of the Hudson Estate. The author states that he will try to find a new proposition for Mr. Goddicksen's brother. The author also apologizes for not being present during Mr. Goddicksen's visit to the office and promises to come see him at a later point.
